equipment used in the game of golf.

Shopping for golf equipment can be done in a wide variety of places:
online, sporting goods stores, golf stores, department stores and on
course pro shops all offer something for the golfer.

Each type of establishment has it's pro's and con's which may include
issues with: price, selection, fitting, expert/poor advice and service.
Purchasing clubs can be particularly confusing as there are so many choices and opinions. If it helps,
many golfers will do just fine with "off the rack" clubs from big name manufacturers. While it is
important to get clubs that are appropriate for you, many sales people over-emphasize the
importance of the clubs and the fitting process. Several retailers use the guise of fitting to present
you with a club that creates a very high profit margin for the retailer. Despite that, sometimes this
can be a win-win situation: the retailer makes a buck and the customer gets a good club that might
cost less than the big brands. As with anything, be informed and buyer beware.
